Rahel Belatchew in Växjö

The yearly Elin Wägner week has just begun.

Rahel Belatchew is one of the speakers who will give a lecture on Tuesday 5 March. Elin Wägner was one of the leading figures in the fight for women’s right to vote. She was also the second woman after Selma Lagerlöf to be elected in The Swedish Academy. On the outskirts of Växjö, she commissioned a summer house from architect Carl Bergsten – Lilla Björka – which she later turned into her home. Carl Bergsten was the architect behind Liljevalchs in Stockholm and Göteborgs Stadsteater.
