Ekebyhov Arena
Proposition for a new sports hall with one part for ball-sports and one for gymnastics, as well as telescopic grandstands, changing rooms and storage room at a total of approximately 2500 m² in Ekebyhov, Municipality of Ekerö outside of Stockholm.
In order not to be perceived as too dominant in this sensitive green area the sports hall has been designed as a souterrain building with a roof that tilts down towards the ground and becomes one with the landscape. The grassy roof becomes a place for recreation in both summer and winter. Natural materials such as sedum roofs, wood paneling, zinc sheet metal and glazing were chosen to further melt in with the surrounding.
