Conversation 3 :: Housing

22 april 2026

Belatchew is celebrating its 20th anniversary—a milestone we will be honoring throughout 2026. To mark the occasion, we are launching a series of conversations where experience, ideas, and challenges meet. Over the course of the year, we invite you to join us in reflection and dialogue as we look back at our journey, assess the present, and, above all, look toward the future.

The theme of Conversation 3 is Housing. How do we shape attractive homes that can also be in demand among many people, not only financially strong households? What is housing quality, really? What research exists in this field? And how do we plan new homes and develop the ones we already have at a time when single-person households are increasing and new family constellations — beyond the traditional nuclear family — are also becoming more common?

These and other questions will be explored in an in-depth conversation between Martin Rörby and Rahel Belatchew, joined this time by Ola Nylander, architect and Professor of Housing Architecture at Chalmers University of Technology, within the Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering. He initiated and developed CBA – the Centre for Housing Architecture, where research is conducted with a focus on housing quality, economics, and sustainable residential development.

Time: Thursday, May 7, 16:30–19:00
Location: Alsnögatan 12, Södermalm

Please note: This conversation will be conducted in Swedish.
