Located at the intersection of Norra Stationsgatan and Gävlegatan, in the block Genen, Twist is a small yet distinctive building situated at the meeting point of Vasastaden, the emerging Hagastaden district and the New Karolinska hospital area. The building comprises approximately 700 square metres and is partly arranged over two floors with a roof terrace.

Hagastaden is a district focused on life science, where the blocks are named after medical concepts. Twist responds to this context. The slender building rotates around its own axis, inspired by the geometry of a DNA helix, shaping an unusual site that partly hovers above a garage entrance.

The structure is light and primarily constructed in timber. A generous multifunctional staircase connects the ground floor, upper level and roof terrace in a seamless spatial sequence. The programme combines workspaces with social functions, blending individual and collective activities.

With activities taking place both during the day and in the evening, Twist becomes a lively destination within the district—an architectural element that continues to glow even after the surrounding office buildings have gone dark.
