Rahel Belatchew meets Léonie Geisendorf in Swedish Television
One episode of SVT's - Swedish public television broadcaster - series Designhistorier (Design Stories) is devoted to a meeting between Rahel Belatchew and Léonie Geisendorf (1914-2916), where Belatchew comments on Geisendorf's architecture and also presents some of Belatchew Architects' works, such as the Flora House in Stockholm and the experimental projects BuzzBuilding and SwimCity .
Léonie Geisendorf was an architect who worked and lived in Sweden most of her professional life. She was a role model for several generations of Swedish architects and her works include Villa Delin and S: t Görans gymnasium in Stockholm.
– Lola, as Léonie Geisendorf was called, was a dedicated architect. She was uncompromising in her work and remained true to her projects to the end, says Rahel Belatchew, CEO and founder, Belatchew Arkitekter AB.
SVT’s Designhistorier (Design Stories) is a program series that highlights Swedish design, by letting some of today’s most pioneering designers meet the pioneers of Yesterday and take a closer look at their signature objects.
