The Domare District

The neighborhood Domaren (“The judge”) is located along the tree-lined avenue Södra Promenaden in Norrköping. Here, Belatchew Architekter has designed three residential houses for Hyresbostäder Norrköping.

The neighborhood Domaren (“The judge”) is located along the tree-lined avenue Södra Promenaden in Norrköping. Here, Belatchew Architekter has designed three residential houses for Hyresbostäder Norrköping.

To create a sight line between the park and the street, the 82 apartments are divided into three cubic point. The houses are shaped like three monoliths with strict facades, playfullt placed on the site. The twists contribute to both informal and inviting spaces between the houses, as well as giving the residents better views. The facades are made in brick with a plinth in a darker color. At the junction of Ektorpsgatan / Södra Promenaden is a room with large glass sections. In the outdoor environments between the houses, strips of greenery are woven into the semi-public passages from street to park. The apartments are space efficient and all except the ones have a balcony or patio. Parking for the residents is available in a garage below the houses where there a shelter is also planned.
